TOUR 1.
Kungur ICE CAVE is 95 km (2 hours one way by car with a coffee break or 1,5 hours without one) from Perm.

Duration of the walking excursion inside the cave: 1.5 hours.
Air temperature inside the cave: – 4 C in the first grotto, + 4 C in the inner grottos all year round.
Total duration of the tour: 6 hours (or 7 hours in case of an additional review tour over Kungur, the town founded in 1663).
Best time to visit: January till March (more beautiful ice crystals than during other seasons) although absolutely no problem to visit all year round.

TOUR 1Y.
YERMAK is a picturesque rock just 60 m high. It is 10 km from Kungur (see TOUR 1), on the bank of beautiful calm river Sylva (0,5 hour by car one way from the place of TOUR1).
Sylva means ”water from melted snow”. What stands behind the name of a Cossack Yermak, is explained elsewhere.
As can be seen, the Yermak rock consists of 3 parts representing Father Yermak, his wife, and son.
Walking up and down this hill along the safe path takes not more than 1 hour including sightseeing from all three tops, taking pictures etc.
Best to visit in summer, autumn, or in May.

Quiet Rafting CANOE RAFTING (the rafting distance within 10 km down the Sylva river, canoes are for 2 and 3 persons,
starting place= Yermak which is TOUR 1Y
end of rafting= Ice Cave which is described earlier as TOUR1 basic option).
DURATION of rafting = 2...3 hours,
Season: July, August, or September.
PRICE: if just added to the basic TOUR1 (see above), then +1700 Rubles pp.
TOUR 2.

KHOHLOVKA, an open air museum of traditional wooden architecture (living estates, churches, bell towers, watchtowers, complete industrial salt extraction facility of XIX c. – all made of wood). More details here.
50 km (1 hour one way by car) from Perm. The excursion at place would last 1-2 hours.
Total duration of the tour: 4 hours or more (depending on ‘no hurry’ option). In case of such a folk event, 5+ hours incl. the transfer.
All year round however best to visit in summer, autumn, or in spring; on special days (like Trinity day, not a fixed day in May or June) there are special FOLK EVENTS (including traditional singing & dancing) worth visiting/participating! In 2010, the Trinity day will be May 23rd (Orthodox calendar).

GULAG Camp GULAG Camp/Prison – unique museum of the history of political repressions. 120 km (2 hours by car) one way.
Excursion lasts 2 hours including a short lecture supported by a documentary film (English).

KOLPAKI farewell rocks
Picturesque "KOLPAKI" buttes (inselbergs) are 270 km from Perm (4 hours by car one way). The height of these island mountains is 614 m above the sea level (last 500 m of the walking route to the top is safe walking path).
Total min. duration of the tour: 10 hours (preferably with a night stay in a warm tent).
Best season to visit: summer, autumn, May. Can be combined with TOUR3.
